Terms of Service.

01 · The service

Scanta is a web application for generating QR codes. Static codes encode their destination directly into the code geometry. Dynamic codes encode a short link on our infrastructure that redirects to a destination you control and may later change. Scan events for dynamic codes are recorded in aggregate to power analytics shown in your account.

02 · Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide a valid email address and keep it current. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. Accounts are for individual or business use; do not share credentials.

03 · Plans and billing

Scanta offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan billed monthly through Stripe. Prices are shown on the pricing page. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on the stated cadence until you cancel.

You may cancel at any time from your account. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not offer prorated refunds for mid-period cancellations. If a charge fails, your subscription may lapse and Pro features will pause until payment resumes.

Dynamic codes created during Pro will stop routing while your plan is Free. The code geometry itself is unaffected and will resume routing automatically if you reactivate Pro.

04 · Acceptable use

You must not use Scanta to distribute destinations that are illegal, deceptive, harmful, infringing, or that facilitate phishing, malware, fraud, or harassment. You must not use the service to circumvent any other platform's policies, including impersonating another brand or individual.

We may disable codes, suspend accounts, or remove content that violates these rules, with or without notice. Where practical we will notify you first and give you a chance to correct the issue.

05 · Your content, our service

You retain all rights in the destination URLs, code names, and other content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to operate the service. We own the Scanta application, brand, design system, and codebase. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights in our intellectual property.

06 · Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, infrastructure outages (including those of our third-party providers), and events beyond our control may cause downtime. We are not liable for losses arising from such interruptions.

07 · Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

08 · Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these terms or to comply with legal requirements. On termination, your dynamic codes will stop routing and your data may be deleted after a reasonable grace period.

09 · Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance.

10 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Taipei, Taiwan, unless the controlling consumer- protection law provides otherwise.
